Cookie & Storage Notice
The short version. We don't set advertising or retargeting cookies, and we don't track you across the internet. We do run basic Google Analytics to see traffic patterns — see the table below for exactly what it sets. We also store one value in your own browser so the newsletter popup doesn't ask you twice. That's the complete list.
Most sites open a cookie banner because they have a lot to confess. We don't, so we haven't. Here's the complete list of what gets stored when you visit punkaficionado.com.
1. What we store on your device
| Name | Type | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
pa_news_v1 |
Local storage (not a cookie) | Remembers whether you already subscribed to the newsletter or dismissed the popup, so we don't
nag you on every visit. Value is either subscribed or dismissed. |
Until you clear your browser storage |
_ga, _ga_* |
Cookie (Google Analytics) | Distinguishes visitors and sessions for aggregate traffic reporting. Not used for ads or cross-site tracking. | Up to 13 months (Google's standard default) |
That value lives on your device and is never transmitted to us. Clearing your browser's site data removes it — the only consequence is that the popup may appear again.
2. What we don't use
- No advertising or retargeting cookies. We don't run ads.
- No Meta Pixel, no heatmaps, no session recording. Google Analytics (see §1 and §3) is the only analytics running here.
- No cross-site tracking, no data brokers, no fingerprinting.
- No login, so no account cookies.
3. Third-party services on our pages
A few outside services load as part of the site. They may set their own cookies or storage under their own policies — we don't control those and we don't receive the data.
| Service | Why it's here | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics | Aggregate site-traffic reporting | Sets the analytics cookies listed in §1 on every page. Governed by Google's own privacy policy. We don't use it for ads and don't share this data with ad networks. |
| Cloudflare | Hosting, delivery, and security for the whole site | May set a security cookie to distinguish real visitors from bots. Necessary for the site to function. |
| Google Fonts | Loads the display typeface | Your browser requests the font file from Google, which sees the request. No cookie is set for font requests. |
| Spotify | The embedded playlist player | The embed loads when you open the player. Once you interact with it, Spotify's cookies and privacy policy apply. |
| Ticket sellers, band sites, Instagram | Outbound links from show listings and articles | Nothing loads until you click. After that you're on their site under their rules. |
4. Controlling it
Every browser lets you block or delete cookies and clear site storage — usually under Settings → Privacy. If you'd rather not be counted in analytics at all, the official Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on blocks it completely. Blocking storage entirely won't break the site; you'll just see the newsletter popup more often.
5. If this changes
If we ever add analytics or anything that tracks behavior, we will update this page, note it in the Privacy Notice, and — where the law requires it — ask for your consent before turning it on.
