SMS Terms

When the Punk Aficionado text alert program launches, these are the terms you'll be agreeing to when you opt in. Nothing here is a surprise: you ask for texts, you get texts, you text STOP and they stop.

1. The program

The Punk Aficionado SMS program sends occasional text alerts about new releases, show announcements near you, ticket on-sales, and new episodes or issues. It is a marketing and informational program run by Punk Aficionado.

2. Opting in — express consent

You only get texts if you specifically ask for them. Consent is given by either:

• entering your mobile number in a form on our site and checking the box agreeing to receive automated marketing texts, or
• texting our published keyword to our published short code or number.

By opting in, you agree to receive recurring automated marketing text messages — including messages sent using an automatic telephone dialing system — from Punk Aficionado at the number you provided.

Only provide a number you own or are authorized to use. If your number changes or is reassigned, tell us so we can update our records and stop texting whoever inherits it.

3. Message frequency

Message frequency varies, but expect roughly 2–6 messages per month. We are a punk publication, not a flash-sale operation; we're not going to blow up your phone.

4. Cost

Message and data rates may apply. The messages are free from us, but your mobile carrier may charge you for them depending on your plan. Check with your carrier if you're unsure.

5. Opting out — STOP

Text STOP to any message from us at any time and you will be unsubscribed. We'll send one final confirmation text and then you won't hear from that program again. STOP, END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, and QUIT all work.

You can also email hello@punkaficionado.com and ask us to remove your number. To rejoin later, just opt in again.

7. Carriers

Supported carriers vary and may change without notice. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. We can't guarantee that every message will arrive — delivery depends on your carrier and your device.

8. Your phone number and privacy

• We collect your mobile number, your opt-in record (date, time, and how you opted in), and delivery status.
• We share it only with the messaging provider that delivers the texts for us.
• We do not sell, rent, or share mobile numbers or SMS consent with third parties for their own marketing. Full stop.
• We keep your number until you opt out, then keep a minimal opt-out record so we don't accidentally text you again.

9. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or have the permission of the account holder, and be the subscriber or authorized user of the mobile number you provide. The program is offered in the United States; we may expand it, and we'll update this page if we do.

10. Changes and ending the program

We may modify or discontinue the SMS program at any time. Material changes will be posted here with an updated date; we'll text active subscribers if the change is significant.
